Christmase Countdown 22 days

Well we got to go to Manheim Steamroller last night and it was a great show as usual. They are the best Christmas music ever. Tonight is data night at the movies and we are going to see Four Christmases. It should be a good show.

At this point it looks like we are going to see the Christmas Carol at the Rep tomorrow night. Tomorrow is of course out first Friday off this month, we are off all the Fridays in December. We are not 100% sure though since we are also considering waiting until next week to go to split things up so who knows what might happen.

Bad news is Jerry is in the hospital and it looks like he has liver cancer. He seems to be in good spirits and we are all trying to pull for him. I am sure he will beat this as he is a great guy and has a ton of people pulling for him. He even started a blog to keep us all up to date on what is going on http://jerryzcircleoflove.blogspot.com/ so i am now following it to keep up with things when we can not get by to visit him.

Today are are planning on getting down there to deliver some things to him to make the stay a little better.

Another Day

Well back at work after the long weekend, thanks to Thanksgiving of course. Things at work are fairly quiet so far, I think it is that time of the year where we are holding up to many changes from happening to prevent as many problems as we can. So it is a good thing sometimes quiet is not so bad.

We are also to that point in the year where vacations are in need of being taken. I myself have worked my last Friday and only have 11 more days this year until I am off until the 5th of January. It will be a nice break from all the normal daily grind to have some time to recover from a very long year.

At least the family will all be showing up soon, people should start arriving on the 19th and 20th so it will be a great holiday this year. Next year everyone will not be coming so I am trying to talk Tracy into having a getaway with the two of us somewhere, I am shooting for maybe Hawaii. How cool would it be to get to go to Hawaii in the middle of the winter.

First Snow

Well it has been a couple of days since my last post, I am trying to get in more of a routine to log my thoughts regularly on this page. I just seem to be so on the go it becomes harder but I am getting better.

We ar getting the first snow of the year today, I figure there is about an inch and it is still snowing at this time. It is kind of nice and with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend coming to a close it is nice to see a little snow to get you in the Christmas frame of mind.

So we did the after Thanksgiving sales this year and they were pretty good to us, we actually managed to get everything we were after and then some and came out relatively unscathed in the whole event. Others were not so lucky and a couple we hit by a car when trying to cross a dark street after their shopping. First we heard someone died but it turns out the guy is paralized and the woman was hurt. They lost all the things they purchased but it sounds like Wal-Mart might give it all back to them. All in all it was better than most since Wal-Mart never closed there was not waiting in line in the cold you could go inside and stand by what ever item you were looking for.

I think we mananged to gather the majority of the things we wanted and have most of our Christmas shopping complete now so it should be a nice smooth couple weeks before everyone shows up for the holiday. On a good note I managed to get level 76 yesterday and am shooting for level 77 today. I started my Epic quest, at least the pre reqs for it so I am hoping to make level 80 and get my epic by Christmas.

Holiday season

Well as the holiday season approaches I am starting to get little more in the holiday mood. Unlike in years past, I have not really done anthing yet to prepare for the holiday. No decorations, no shopping, no cards, nothing at all, well i guess that is not entirely true, I did run a Toys for Tots campaign at work. At least some kids will be happy since they will now get something when they probably would not have.

Things are changing fairly quickly now and getting a lot more hectic. Work is really starting to take a toll on my mental status, but at least I know that I will be on vacation from the 15th of December through the 3rd so maybe I can start a recooperation of my old self and get back to delving in. I still need to get back to learning higher level programming that I have not had to do for a while. Although there are some things coming out from my old role now that are leading me towards making a more clean break from the normal day to day operations and more toward the tier 4 level.

Yesterday the new Everquest II Shadow Odyssey came out and I finally got it installed about 9:30 last night. Again we had to stay at work late due to issues. Oh well, I did get it installed at least and so next time I play it should be ready to go. I am almost level 74, my toon is a Human Paladin.

Long Day

Well it was another long day today. Work seems to really be stepping up the issues these days which makes it hard to catch your breathe sometimes. I have several key people that seem to all want something from me at the sametime. I am also in a lot of high profile important projects. I suppose the biggest problem is I just have trouble saying no. Yeah I know everyone needs to know how to say no but depending on who it is i just can not do it.

Work started today at 6:00 AM and is still not over as I type this entry, I will be working for the next couple of hours at least. Big things going on with a project we are working in Texas. Not really hard work per se, but very time consuming and tedious work with great attention to detail. One of those things where if you do one thing wrong it can mean the difference between success and failure.

So while I am completing my tasks for the day, they were some what delayed as my daughter hade car trouble so I ended up leaving work early and working from home after helping her. You might think that sounds like a treat, the reality is working from home ends up meaning more hours since you keep on even after you would have left the office. Oh well at least I am down to just watching things now so I am playing a little EQII while I watch.

Another Day

Well here it is a few days since my last post and things are still going pretty well. Tracy, my wife, is heading to Seattle on business for the rest for the rest of the week so I am now on my own until Friday when she gets back. Not sure what I will do, but I will probably play some EQ II for sure. I am trying to get to level 80 to be more able to do things with the group I am in.

I also am hoping that the house remodel will be done sometime next week, for sure before the Thanksgiving holiday. The basement, which we are finally finishing, is looking pretty good at the moment. We added a full bathroom and finished the entire basement. Tracy even bougth a pool table to put down there. This is a pool table that has an alternate ping pong table top for versatility. We will be trying it out to see how we like it. If we use it a lot we might get a real tournament table sometime in the future.

We are also planning to move the treadmill and stair master back down to one corner. There will be a new TV mounted on the wall where the Wii will be hooked up. If you have not tried the Wii Fit you are really missing out. It is a blast and has you work out without really knowing you are wokring out. Bowling is a total blast on the Wii. When the whole family gets here at Christmas it will be a very used room. Yes the whole family will be up which will add to about 23 to 25 people in the house off and on for about two weeks. Actually is it my wfie's family but I love them all a ton and look forward to seeing them. I do not really talk to my family much, but that is a whole different topic.

Back After a while

Well I am now back to posting on this blog. I have been way to busy in recent weeks. A promotion at work has caused me to be spending a lot more time in the office, this week was light only about 55 hours and 8 of that was a vacation day. :)

I do like my job and the people I work with. I am trying to get my life in a little bit better shape, working out a little more and trying to get in shape for the coming spring. I know it is a while away now but it is a big time since my 15th anniversary is in February and we are going to Puerto Vallarto for a week so want to be in good shape.

Christmas is almost here and the whole family will be coming up to spend a couple of weeks at my house. We are just trying to get the whole house in order so it looks good when everyone gets here. I will post more on what we are doing a little later.

Things are really starting to come together right now. Walking about 2.5 miles per day and only taking one day off per week. That should help considering the change in eating also.

It has been a while

Well it has been a while since I was out of town for a week watching my son graduate. We are very proud of him now that he is in the Air Force. Graduation was great and he graduated with honors as a Warhawk. He is now in his technical school learning how to plan missions. The plan is to get back to normal next week.

Day two

Well it was another day and it is almost over now. I was doing good until I went out and noticed the car had an almost flat tire. Funny it had been in the shop last week to have it fixed and the tires rotated. Found out today I needed to buy new tires. While I was waiting i ate chinese, not a real good plan.
Tracy, my wife, comes home tomorrow. She is out of town on a business trip in Minnesota right now but comes home tomorrow. I will go to work, play softball, the last game of the season, then head to the airport to pick her up. It will be a great day.
Other than Chinese I ate pretty good today. A plan is a plan.

August 26th

I decided that a lot of people had a blog and it might be a great way to put down thoughts and feelings to share. I will start with a little and expand on my life.

Well things went well again today, I was able to follow all the plans I had for the second day in a row. Things are changing quick these days. Zac is now in the Air Force and will graduate next week in Texas. Ashley moved out and got her own place. I am actually quite proud of her. She managed to find a place she could afford and step out on her own. Kayla is the last kid at home and she is now a senior.
Well all the plans I am working on are targeted at the big trip. Our 15th anniversary where we head to Mexico for a week in the all inclusive resort. It should be a great trip, we are even going with a few family members.
I can only hope to keep up on the good track I am own now.
